Evacuation Procedures

Per the Corporate Safety Committee, these are the procedures to be followed during a building evacuation:

• Upon hearing the fire alarm, every associate must evacuate the building immediately.
• Do not stop to gather belongings. Doors to offices are to be closed but NOT locked.
• Exit via the stairwell for your floor (do not use elevators).
• Descend quickly down the stairwell only to make room for emergency personnel.
• Talk only when necessary.
• No beverages are permitted in the stairwells as they cause slip/fall hazards and potential burns with hot liquids.
• Eating, drinking, and smoking are not permitted.
• Do not use cell phones or electronic devices while exiting; they may be used once you are outside.
• Go directly to the Designated Assembly Area for your Floor.
• Floor Safety Captains (wearing orange vests) will take attendance at Designated Assembly Areas. Do not leave the Designated Assembly Area until you have checked in with your Floor Safety Captain.
• To comply with security procedures, ensure your ID badges are visible before and after the fire drill.
